Karting, known in English as KARTING, is a miniature sports car whose history can be traced back to the 1940s. The prototype of Karting first originated in the United States by some innovators who removed the engine of a lawn mower and put it into a frame made of iron frames pieced together and added wheels to create the prototype of Karting. These early karts were not mass-produced, but were used as vehicles for personal recreation or small races.

In 1956, American mechanic Art Ingels built the first truly production-ready go-kart by welding a simple frame out of steel tubing, installing a thin seat and a two-stroke engine with a simple brake system. Inglis is known as the “Father of Go-Karting”. The appearance of this kart, quickly popularized in the United States and European countries, by more and more sought after, but also derived from a wealth of karting events.
In order to promote the healthy development of karting, in 1962, FIA President Ballester created the FIA Karting Commission, which is responsible for popularizing and promoting the sport of karting worldwide and overseeing the implementation of uniform rules and technical standards. This initiative gave a great boost to the development of karting as a foundation and bridge for the development of drivers for modern formula racing.
Over time, karting has gained widespread popularity and development worldwide. China saw its first karting circuit in 1985, then joined the FIA Karting Commission in 1995 and began organizing national karting events. Despite its late start, karting in China has also seen rapid development and popularization in recent years.
Nowadays, karting is not only a form of entertainment, but also the starting point for many racing enthusiasts and professional racers to get started in motorsports. Its simple structure, easy driving, safety and excitement make it a very popular motorsport.
